Tasky Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 26, 2026
Our Privacy Commitment
Tasky is designed with your privacy as the default. Your tasks stay on your device unless you explicitly choose to share them with others.
Data Collection & Storage
Solo Use — Local Only
When you use Tasky without the Sharing feature:
- ✅ Your tasks are stored locally on your iPhone only
- ✅ No account required
- ✅ No data ever leaves your device
- ❌ We do NOT store your tasks on our servers
- ❌ We do NOT track your personal information
- ❌ We do NOT sell your data to third parties
Your data only leaves your device in these specific cases:
- When YOU explicitly export it
- If you enable iCloud backup (controlled by iOS, not Tasky)
Sharing Feature — Cloud Storage
When you sign in and use the Sharing feature, the following data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Firestore) to enable real-time collaboration:
- Shared list data: List names, task titles, descriptions, subtasks, categories, due dates, priorities, and recurrence settings
- Completion records: Who completed each task and when, linked to your account
- Member information: Your display name, role (owner/editor/viewer), and join timestamp — visible to other members of your shared lists
- Account identifiers: A unique Firebase user ID linked to your Apple ID
This data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and is governed by Google’s privacy practices.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Account & Authentication
Sign In with Apple
The Sharing feature requires signing in with Apple. When you sign in:
- Apple authenticates your identity and shares a unique identifier with Firebase
- Your email address is optional — Apple allows you to use a private relay address
- Firebase stores authentication credentials necessary to maintain your session and secure your shared data
Push Notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
When you sign in and grant notification permission, a device token is stored in your account record on Firebase. This token allows us to send notifications about activity in your shared lists. No notification content is stored on our servers.
You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Tasky.
Third-Party Services
1. Google Firebase (Authentication, Database & Notifications)
Purpose: Powers sign-in, shared data storage (Firestore), and push notifications (FCM) for the Sharing feature.
Data processed when Sharing is used:
- Firebase user ID and authentication tokens
- Shared list and task content (see Sharing section above)
- Push notification device tokens
- Account profile (display name, nicknames)
Firebase Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
2. Google AdMob (Advertising)
Purpose: Display ads to support free app development.
Data Collected by AdMob:
- Device identifiers (Advertising ID/IDFA)
- IP address
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data
- Ad interaction data
Your Control:
- Limit ad tracking: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Reset your Advertising ID: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
AdMob Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
3. Firebase Crashlytics (Crash Reporting)
Purpose: Detect and fix app crashes to improve stability.
Data Collected:
- Crash logs and stack traces
- Device model and OS version
- Time of crash
- DOES NOT include your task content
- When signed in, crash reports are associated with your Firebase user ID so we can investigate account-specific issues
Firebase Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Tasky uses iOS App Groups to share data between the main app and widgets.
- Purpose: Allow widgets to display your tasks
- Scope: Data shared ONLY between Tasky app and Tasky widgets on YOUR device
- Privacy: No external access — stays on your device
iCloud Backup (iOS System Feature)
If you enable iCloud Backup on your iPhone:
- iOS may back up your Tasky local data to your personal iCloud account
- This is controlled by iOS settings, not by Tasky
- Only YOU can access your iCloud backup
- Tasky developers have NO access to your iCloud data
To disable backup for Tasky:
- Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Backups
- Select your device → Show All Apps
- Toggle off “Tasky”
Data Export & Deletion
Export Your Local Data
You can export all local data at any time:
- Open Tasky
- Go to Settings (⚙️)
- Tap “Export Data”
- Your data downloads as a JSON file
Delete Local Data
To permanently delete all locally stored data, delete the Tasky app from your iPhone. All local data is immediately and permanently erased.
Delete Your Account and Cloud Data
If you have signed in to use Sharing, you can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data from within the app:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
This action:
- Permanently deletes all shared lists you own, including their tasks and completion history
- Removes you from any shared lists you joined
- Deletes your user profile and push notification token from our servers
- Revokes your Apple Sign In authorization with Firebase
- Cannot be undone
Account deletion is processed immediately. If you experience any issues, contact us at garmatua@proton.me.
Children’s Privacy
Tasky does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Sharing feature, which involves cloud data storage, is not intended for children under 13.

- Right to know what data is collected
- Right to delete your data
- Right to opt out of data “sales” (we don’t sell data)

- We recommend using a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
- App Group data is sandboxed from other applications
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Sharing feature after material changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
